Abbas is the award-winning Head Chef of the Chilli Lounge. In 2015, he won Curry Life magazine’s Chef of the Year (Hertfordshire). This accolade and his highly-creative style of cooking meant that Curry Life went on to select him to represent the delights of British curry in India - at the Taste of Britain Curry Festival. This took place in April 2016 in India’s capital. During the two-week Festival, Abbas showcased his curries to an international audience at one of New Delhi’s finest hotels. 


The highly-selective, five-person master chefs delegation was led by acclaimed chef Dominic Chapman who has worked in many Michelin-starred restaurants (including Heston Blumenthal’s world-famous Fat Duck).


Dominic cooked favourite traditional English dishes; Abbas and his three colleagues prepared their own creative interpretations of such British stalwarts as Tikka Masala, Balti and Jalfrezi dishes. And they won fans all over the city who delighted in the coming together of such talented master chefs, able to bring to India the versatility, inventiveness and delicious flavours of Great British Food.
